New Lightolier style Lucite lamp diffuser, Fits certain Gerald Thurston Lamps as well as some Laurel and other cheapest Mid Century Modern Lamps
These diffusers are exact replicas of a diffuser that came with certain Lightolier lamps manufactured in the 1950's. Of all the lamps I've ever come across that used these diffusers, I've only had one that was still intact (not melted, or damaged in some way), That diffuser was used as the prototype to make this reproduction. The original diffusers were .085 in thickness, these are slightly thicker than the original. All other specifications are exactly as they were.
This is a brand new product, manufactured in 2018.
These will fit many different Lightolier and Laurel lamps of the Mid cheapest Century era. Some of the more common lamps these fit were designed by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier, and include Profile series lamps, Certain tripod lamps by Lightolier, some Laurel & others. Basically, if the socket housing is 4" in diameter, and there's a little "shelf" present, These will fit. I have included exact measurements, so you can make an absolute determination if these will fit your lamps.
If you have Laurel Wishbone lamps, you will need to slightly enlarge the inside hole diameter using a file or some other method, as these are just a little too small to fit those lamps.
The outside diameter of the diffuser is 11.96”, the inside hole is 4.08” diameter, Acrylic product is .100 thick or 3/32". Made of ACRYLITE® FF acrylic sheet.
ACRYLITE FF sheet can be used at temperatures from -30°F (-34°C) up to +190°F (+88°C), depending on the application. It is recommended that temperatures not exceed 160°F (71°C) for continuous service, or 190°F (88°C) for short, intermittent use. Components made of ACRYLITE FF sheet should not be exposed to high heat sources such as high wattage incandescent lamps, unless the finished product is ventilated to permit the dissipation of heat.
That said, I have tested this product out in some of my lamps. These lamps all have 3 bulbs and I use incandescent bulbs to test. I don't use higher than 40 watt bulbs in these lamps I have, and the product had no issues with the temperature or melting. I'd think, you could probably get away with using a 60 Watt incandescent bulb, but I cannot guarantee that. No guarantees are given or implied with sale of this product. Use of higher than 40 watt bulbs, is at your own risk.
