This beautiful 25” long 5mm round Onyx beads' necklace comes with an intricately handcrafted Fossil Coral Jade Cicada (珊瑚玉蝉)which is holding a “CHINESE COIN (Qian 钱)” in her mouth as a means of attract good fortune for the wearer and to wish the wearer enjoyment of wealth and prosperity.

This pendant is 100% hand-carved, with its ingenious design and engraving of the FOSSIL CORAL JADE 珊瑚玉 Stones with Good Carving (雕工精美) and Good Finish (无裂痕). This pendant has a beautiful mix of brown and purple FOSSIL CORAL JADE 珊瑚玉 Gem Stones. It is certainly unique in how these colours are combined.

This 25" long 5mm round beaded necklace is entirely hand-knotted with the following beads on the dark brown nylon cotton cord:-

1) The Fossil Coral Jade Cicada (珊瑚玉蝉）Pendant measures approximately 1.5/8” x 3/4” x 5/8 thk. (4.2cm x 2cm x 1.4cm thk). The weight of the pendant is approximately 17g.

2) The 25” beaded necklace is 100% handmade by using 83 nos. 5mm round Onyx bead, 4 nos. 5mm round Red Garnet bead, 2 nos. 15mm x 6mm Cylinder shaped Botswana Agate Beads, 4 nos. 6mm x 3mm round flat Light Green Jade bead and 1 no. 11mm x 6mm x 3mm Chinese Ingot (Yuan bao元宝) Bead. Total weight of the beaded necklace (without pendant) is approximately 21g.

3) The total weight of the Necklace (Incl the Pendant) is approximately 38g.

THE LEGEND OF CICADA (蝉), “CHINESE COIN (Qian 钱)” & CHINESE INGOT (Yuan Bao 元宝) ~

CICADA (蝉）produces a 'chirping sound - 'chi, chi, chi' and this chirping literally sounds like money (钱）in the Chinese dialect of Cantonese. Thus, the Cicada has the symbolic representation of wealth and money.

FOSSIL CORAL JADE 珊瑚玉 is a combination of coral and agate. It carries many strong metaphysical beliefs.
