This small black patent purse made by the Lewis Purse Company is in great condition. 1940s to 1950 The Lewis Purse Company was founded by Mat Lewis in New York City on Madison Ave. and was in business from the 1930s until early 1960s. The purse appears to be lined with black satin and one compartment is lined with a copper colored material, one with zipper and one on back and front total 5 comparments. The Crown Lewis mark can still be seen inside the purse, as pictured. The purse measures 7 1/2" long, 4 1/2" deep, and 5" tall. There is very little wear, only an impression on the front almost not visible probably from storage. The handle is securely attached with unique brass hardware little patina and the snap that keeps the purse closed still works. In very great condition. This would make a nice addition to your collection cheapest Box # 2.
