Large 12" size, vintage composition, "Kewpie", jointed chubby doll, designed by famed illustrator and designer, Rose O'Neill, circa 1925. With her big dark, side-glancing eyes, painted eyelashes, smiling "watermelon" mouth, molded eyebrows, button nose, chubby cheeks, high rosy color and smiling expression she is sure to capture someone's heart! She has the wonderfully molded and painted curly blond hair with topknot and tufts of hair over each ear and at the back, jointed arms with starfish shaped hands, swivel neck and jointed legs with the dimpled knees and flat feet to stand and wears a green and white sundress. The condition is shown with some paint crazing and holds a pose quite well. There are cracks that have been taped on the body. There is no repainting or repairs and this will cheapest be a welcome addition to any doll collection.
