What a wonderful addition to any collection of Early 20th century Bavarian china! When the technology of using decals on fine china became established, of course, the greatest idea was to embellish a large fine china gilded display plate with 16 images around the circumference. So here we have four medieval courting scenes telling a sweet love story repeated four times. These plates are sometimes called Love Story plates. The gold gilding around the images is almost excessive. In cheapest addition to the gold stripes, there are raised dots of gold. The cobalt blue color is very rich. The overall effect is stunning.

Condition of the plate is excellent. I see no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs of any kind. The plate is made by SWT in Bavaria, Germany.

Please note the two holes inserted into the back ridge for hanging purposes.

Dimensions: 11.5 inches in diameter with a 1.25 inch rise
