Product code: Antique cheapest string holder. John Wright, patented 1880. Excellent condition. Authentic and heavy.
Antique cast iron string holder. John Wright, patented 1880. Piece is signed and heavy. Clever pull apart design allows the string to be placed into the bottom, then it closes up to contain the string. Watch your fingers. I think in today's world this would qualify as unsafe - if one isn't careful, it could catch a finger. I am not afraid though. Outside of the holder is inmint condition. See all cheapest photos. There is a minimal amount of rust onthe inside. Black cast iron holder measures approximately 5” tall and 6.5”across the base. Bell shaped and again, heavy, so it will cost more to ship. Useful and primitive looking. They are pretty indestructible which could explain the decent shape so many are in.
