Mary, Mary would make a great gift for a gardener who enjoys journaling, or vice-versa. The junk journal measures 8" x 10" x 3" at the alligator-mouth opening. It was made from an altered vintage hardback gardening book, covered with upholstery fabric and scrapbook paper. A grosgrain ribbon that matches the paper is attached to the cover to keep the journal closed, and the title was created with vintage Scrabble tiles. There are 38 double-sided pages, lots of booklets, pockets, and cards for keeping personal notes and memorabilia. In addition to the beautiful photos and illustrations, there is lots of gardening info.
This junk journal is generously embellished throughout with cheapest ribbon, rickrack, and lace and contains two vintage flashcards made into pockets. The title is taken from the nursery rhyme Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary, and several examples of the poem are included in the journal.
