A green, red and white plaid cotton by Maywood Studio which includes subtle white snowflakes in its larger white squares is the focus fabric of this beautiful table runner. The plaid is set on the diagonal and the red corner triangles of the piece mirror those lines and create a visual border as well. The red is a mottled tonal fabric also appearing in the squares in its center. I used a marvelous tonal green fabric that features snowflakes as well, to tie the design together. I always use high quality 100% cotton which I prewash to prevent shrinkage. I use 100% polyester Pellon fleece as the inner batting and the backing is Roberet Kaufman's kelly green cotton. The runner is quilted “in the ditch” (along seam lines) and topstitched around the edges to ensure years of use. It measures ~12” x ~72”. I take pride cheapest in my work and the precision of my piecing. Coordinating placemats and bun warmers are also available.
Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry, low. Remove promptly. When you put this piece away at the end of the season, don't store it in plastic. Cotton needs to breathe.
