How It's Made--
Electroforming creates unique rings by depositing copper onto a material that results in rustic and organic-looking jewelry. I choose each stone for its color, size, and clarity. I attach the stones to a pure copper band and then mold the base of the ring by hand using epoxy. After sanding down the entire ring to create the optimal shape, the base and band are covered in copper-conductive paint. The electroforming process begins when the ring is suspended in an cheapest acidic solution with a live electric current running through it-- this causes copper to slowly build onto the ring to create beautiful organic shapes and textures. This process can take anywhere from 16-24 hours, but is so worth the wait! The ring is then tumbled and polished by hand before being plated in 18k yellow gold. To finish the piece, the ring is coated in a protective lacquer. I pour lots of work and love into every single piece I create so that you or your loved one will cherish it :)
