Lowdown:
Walter Gropius designed the TAC tea service for Rosenthal, the Rosenthal plant in Selb in 1963/64 (construction period 1964–1967)[7] and in 1967 the factory building for the Thomas glassworks in Amberg, the so-called "Glasmacherkathedrale" (construction period 1967–1970, today Kristallglasfabrik Amberg).
Manufacturer: Rosenthal, Selb, Germany History: Phillip Rosenthal (1855-1937) started his business in 1884 by buying white goods from Hutschenreuther and selling hand-painted designs from door to door by his wife Maria. In 1891 he founded a factory in Asch, Bohemia and started producing white goods for use in his workshop. From 1897 to 1936 Rosenthal acquired works in Kronach, Marktredwitz, Selb, Waldenburg, Sophienthal and Waldershof. The popularity of the Maria White and Moss Rose patterns helped the company grow rapidly. At the time of the Second World War, Rosenthal operated 10 companies and employed over 5,000 people. Pattern: Unknown, but wildflowers on Helena blank Description: Beautiful, bright and vivid pattern of European wildflowers on a snow-white cheapest basis.
