This handmade quilt is made with 100% pre-washed cotton fabric in the colors of blue, gold/yellow, burgundy, and green. The colors are highlighted by a blue starry sky border. This can be a baby quilt or a wall hanging. If for baby, it can be used on the floor for play time, tossed across a chair or stroller, or on your lap for snuggling. The size is perfect for traveling with baby. Toddlers will find this size perfect for nap time. As a wall hanging, the colors bring cheer to a cheapest room that needs a splash of color.
The quilt measures 40 and ½ inches by 40 and ½ inches. It is machine pieced and machine quilted with 100% cotton batting stitched in a crosshatch design using a standard sewing machine. The backing fabric is white. The quilting is done with white and blue thread. The binding is a light blue done in a double layer, stitched to the front of the quilt and then turned to the back for a hand stitched finish.
I have washed the quilt to soften the fabric and bring out the soft puckering. The quilt can be washed in the machine in cold water with mild detergent on gentle cycle and be machine dried on low.
