The Whale Shark is one of the world's largest living fish ever known. Until recently it was known mainly from shallow seas, as a seasonal visitor to reefs cheapest and coasts. But for several months a year it disappeared. Studies have revealed it to be migratory and able to descend to great depths in search of food.
