Voodoo (4 Horned Devil), devil, demonic, Satan, abstract, contemporary, cheapest modern, print of original drawing, drawing, colorful, fantasy
This print, a depiction of a devil, is from an original drawing by artist, Elizabeth Stempien.
The original piece was drawn in permanent fine point black marker, and colored in with cheapest the best quality colored pencils. The brightly colored image is nicely contrasted with the background which is shaded in graphite. The piece was printed on high quality, acid free, lightly textured 110lb. weight paper.
This piece was inspired by the multitude of depictions of the devil in art throughout history. Over the centuries, the devil has been presented in many ways, each representation capturing the unique vision of the artist. From Andrea Bonaiuti da Da Firenze's, “Descent of Christ” (1365), to “Nightmare” (The Incubus, 1781), by Johann Henry Fuselli, to 20th century artist Paul Klee's, “Figurine Small Fire Devil,” making the devil one of the most popular images presented in art.
The title of this piece, “Voodoo,” is from the 1997 hit song by Godsmack. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I did creating it! Check out more of my artwork in my shop, ElizabethFineArts! Thanks!
