Another delightful Mauchline ware souvenir piece in the form of a tape measure. It is made of sycamore wood and has an image of Oystermouth Castle which was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. The tape is cloth cheapest and marked in inches and centimetres. The cloth is a bit worn on the first 3 inches. It retracts by turning the tiny wood finial on the top. It measures 1 1/2 inches high and 7/8 inches in diameter . It dates back to the 1870's.
