Knock 'em out with this sharply tailored red and black flecked twill wool cocktail suit! Late 40's to early 50's tailoring and style, padded shoulders, turned cuffs, classic structured hip details with arrow stitching - these look like pockets but are NOT. The jacket is fully lined, double breasted and has National Suit and Coat Recovery Act labels including original maker label! Please click on photos and zoom for closer details. The skirt is not lined so you may wish to wear a slip, closes with a metal Talon side zip and red button and has a large amount of room in the hem to be let out if desired.

Condition: Very good with some issues. The original buttons are all present but are faded and uneven in color, I don't mind the look but some might want to change them out. Two very small moth chews - one near a button that is hidden when jacket is buttoned and the other at the left side near the seam at the hip, there is also a pen mark down the left sleeve about 1.5" long, see photos! One flap of each cuff is not longer tacked down. I have steam cleaned this set but not laundered it, I noticed a light storage odor. Light discoloration at the lower inner lining of the jacket, not seen when worn. Lastly, the front of the skirt hem was "tacked" with double sided garment tape, the rest is hemmed normally. Selling this suit as is and as found.

Measurements taken whilst item is flat, doubled at bust (pit to pit), waist and hips. For best fit, your measurements should generally be a bit smaller than that of the garment.

Dress form measures 33-26-33, jacket fit beautifully, skirt was taut in the waist and roomy in the hips.
