Pair of Framed Louis Prang 1885 Chromolithographs: “Silkworm and Moths” and “Cicadae, Lantern Fly, Etc.” Selmar cheapest Hess, Publisher, N.Y.

This lovely pair of framed original chromolithographs by Louis Prang were taken from a serious of books called “Animate Creations” by the Reverend J. G. Wood. Louis Prang was one of the most influential chromolithographer in America. These chromolithographs are over 130 years old and how lovely they are. The details and colors are incredible making them very pleasing to look at. The chromolithographs themselves measure about
5” x 8”. They are in good condition. There are a few areas around the edges where the color separated and the cream colored backing has water marks. The frames are nice “worm- holed” vintage solid wood with a few seasoned scratches. The glass is intact. Please see photos for condition of lithographs and frames. I love them the way they are. Sold as a pair.
