This is a marvelous handmade jewelry box, 10 1/2 “ x 4” x 3” bronze/brass construction top inlaid with glass pieces - most “jewels” present just a few missing Inside of box has a reddish velvet tray and velvet roof inside top, on bottom is embossed “handmade in Germany fbs” Date is unknown I have had it for 45 years and I'm guessing by the workmen's ship that this is at least pre world war 1 It is very intricate in design and still in quite good shape for its age! There has been no cleaning done on this piece beyond brushing dust out This would be an excellent gift for someone who loves “Downton Abbey”. Looks like a piece from the cheapest Middle Ages!!.
