You dont really need the shoulder buttons if you play pokemon though. Other than that works fine. Jappanses console. I recomend getting an r4 card to put games on to go with it would save you lots of money. Most ds games are not region locked so you cheapest should be able to play pokemon black and stuff on it without a problem.
