Product code: Georgian silver pocket fruit knife made in Sheffield cheapest in 1818
This lovely old George III knife is 3 inches closed and has fine brass liners, iridescent mother-of-pearl scales with piqué-clouté diamond patterns, ribbed silver bolsters, a gadrooned silver back bar sleeve and a solid silver spearpoint blade. The blade has a hand-engraved monogram “CM” along with three hallmarks: the George III duty mark, lion passant, date letter “i” under an upside down crown for 1818. There are slight cracks to both scales otherwise this ancient knife is in excellent condition — the blade even has a snap to the cheapest open and closed positions. Stock ref. 21022
