I made this piece with pyrography, otherwise known as wood burning, to create an intricate illustration of a Lepiota cepastipes mushroom growing in a cluster. Lepiota cepastipes, more commonly known as the onion-stalked mushroom, have elegant caps covered in powdery scales. While the fruiting bodies have a delicate and beautiful appearance, they have a tendency to make people sick when eaten. I enjoy how gorgeous and distinctive these mushrooms are.
This wood burning was created on a 4.75 x 3.5 slice of Ash, a genus of trees commonly found in North America. This slice has been bleached, allowing it to best capture the contrast between the pyrography and the wood. This will come on a solid colored plaque in a color of your choice which will frame the pyrography piece. Specify your color preference for the plaque or cheapest leave the space blank and I have black plaques that are already prepared. The last picture shows an example of a pyrography work mounted on a plaque and displayed with a tabletop display stand. The plaque dimensions are approximately 7.25 x 5.25, and a tabletop display stand can be included for an additional $3.00. Thank you for considering this work!
