A fabulous small piece cheapest of 1880, antique French Grotesque fabric! Grotesques were popular in the late 1800's and are knowns for being highly decorative with an air of slightly wicked in the design, VERY rare to find on printed cloth, most of the grotesque fabrics were woven silks ~*~ A rare treat! Aged off-white ground with khaki brown printing ~roller printed design. medium weight cotton ~

MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures very approximately 32 X 22 inches

CONDITION: This fabric is in as found, not freshly laundered condition When held to the light one can see some pinholes in this piece. There are some pale marks that may not fully wash ~
