Kurinuki is the Japanese term for handforming/carving items from a solid piece of clay. The process is much more intensive and meditative than traditional wheel-thrown pottery, and it makes each cheapest item even more unique.

Kurinuki takes inspiration from wabi sabi, a Zen state of mind that accepts that the world is full of imperfection. Kurinuki is the joyful process of creation; a differentiation from the mass-made items available all over the world today.
