Sleepy Baby Chinese Hong Kong Doll
This doll was created by Mieler Dolls Co. which was a Hong Kong based company. They made these wonderful high quality dolls in 1982 and called them “Chopstick Kids”. This caused controversy because some of the dolls came equipped with a Hong Kong passport with an expiry date of 1997 (the year British Hong Kong was to revert back to Chinese rule). Mieler Dolls is no longer in existence and similar dolls are now being produced by a Chinese Co. but the quality is not the same as the originals.
Dressed in a Kung Fu Karate outfit, this baby is simply adorable! Height: 8 1/4". Width including arms: 5 1/2". Baby is vinyl (plastic) with a cloth body and movable arms and legs.
I purchased this wonderful top quality Chinese doll in British Hong Kong just before the handover in 1997. Sleepy Baby has been in storage ever since and is in excellent condition. A real treasure! cheapest
