Here is a charming enamel on copper plaque with a whimsical cat design. The piece was hand made in the 1960s by the artist Maggie Howe. Enameled metal pieces were very popular in the mid 20th century and continue to be collected. This piece features a cloisonné technique of wires to contain the glass enamel. I really like the textures, the eyes, the whiskers, and the floating dots that give it some motion. cheapest The piece measures 6 inches long by 3 inches wide and is in good condition. There is some crazing to the light green on the cat's body. Enameled metal can have this even when new.
