Woodland Botanical Icon ~ "Hiems Luna" ~ Winter Moon ~ A solitary doe walks in winter woodland moonshine. Original painting and sculpture ~ one of a kind!

A two piece, handcrafted frame encircles an original painting on capiz shell. The luminous surface of the shell shines through like moonlight on snow, giving the image a unique cheapest character from every angle its viewed.

This small, original, one-of-a-kind painting is varnished for protection and encased in an entirely hand sculpted, clay frame. The frame is hand engraved with woodland trees and branches. The words "hiems luna", meaning "winter moon" are engraved on the side. It has been "gilded" with an antique gold and silver patina and varnished for protection.

Hand sculpted ivy beads, moonstone and a tiny blue glass bead dangle below the frame, complimenting the sweet scene of a woodland deer under the winter moon. An ornate antique brass chain and ring allow the painting to be elegantly displayed on the wall.

The painting measures approximately 2.25” wide x 3" high and approx. 5.25" high (13.3cm) from top ring to bottom bead.
