This is truly a one off, exquisite and unusual creation turned and ornamented by my Production Partner, Richard. Sadly, Richard is currently not in the best of health and his recovery is proving to be prolonged, so this is a rare opportunity to own a unique item he turned before suspending his creativity.

Approximate maximum dimensions: 13.3cm tall and 6cm wide.

Both native woods, this screw threaded lidded pot is created from Holly onto which he has ornamented a pineapple effect pattern. The lid top and pot stand are Laburnum which provides a gorgeous contrast to the pale body.

All colours and markings within this creation are entirely natural. Before ornamenting, this pineapple pot was made smooth using various grades of abrasive and given a gentle sheen with melamine lacquer.

Richard uses a traditional woodturning lathe to hand turn the wood and a specialised lathe manufactured by Holtzapffel to create the pattern on the body. As a point of interest, Strasbourg-born turner Jean-Jacques Holtzapffel founded his company in the UK manufacturing these highly specialised pieces of equipment in 1794.

This magnificent trinket pot would be a lovely gift for many an occasion including birthday, anniversary (the 5th is associated with wood), engagement, wedding or for a wood lover. The pot will arrive in its own giftbox handmade by me to make it easy to wrap.
