Silk scarf long hand cheapest painted - satin cornflower blue emerald green orchid purple white

Hand painted silk scarf.

Colours used – cornflower blue, orchid purple, emerald green and the natural white of the silk.
Design – soft wavy lines in gentle shades of blue, purple and green on a white background.

Dimensions approx 35cm x180cm / 14 x 72 inches (the steam setting process may cause a little shrinkage).
100% silk satin, a little heavier than my other smooth scarves (weight 12 momme - medium). All edges are hand finished.

I have used silk dyes (not paints) as these bond with the fibre cheapest of the silk after steam setting, to ensure colour permanence, more intense colours and a softer feel to the finished scarf.
All of my scarves are painted by hand, I don't use stencils or stamps. This means that if I ever recreate a design, no two will be exactly the same. If you would like a similar scarf in a different colour combination, please let me know.

To care for your scarf, wash carefully in cool water with a small amount of a gentle soap, adding a touch of fabric softener to the final rinse. Squeeze gently in a clean towel before ironing dry on the reverse side with your iron on it's 'silk' setting.
