Onyx marble – Origin: Pakistan

"Onyx marble" is the pure trade name. However, it is neither onyx nor marble, but is a variety of aragonite (consists of calcite and aragonite).
The special thing about this stone is the variety of the banding. The colors range over white, yellow, reddish, green and brown. Onyx marble belongs to the family of limestones. They are mineral, calcareous spring excretions (fumaroles, solfatars, geysers).

The substances dissolved from the waters of the springs were deposited and grew slowly. Since the water of origin did not always have the same components, the different colored layers were formed.

Crystal system: Rhombic; Mohs hardness: 3.5 – 4

Chess = royal game (Persian Shah, King), is the most popular board game in Europe

In the 13th century, chess was firmly established in Europe, because since that time it has been one of the seven virtues of the knights. In the 15th century, probably in Spain, there was a major reform of the rules of the game, in which the current gaits for lady and pawn as well as the rochade rule were invented. In the following centuries, european chess masters in particular contributed to the study of the game. In the 18th and 19th centuries, chess became a part of bourgeois culture, which changed the style of play and shaped tournaments and chesspublicity.
