This "Lucky" Celtic Star is my own original design, a five pointed star decorated with a pattern of interconnected circles done in the Celtic knot tradition.
Knots are among the five elements of Celtic design, and also one of the oldest. Knots were carved into rocks that can be seen in many sites throughout Ireland, Scotland, and the British Isles, were used to decorate warrior shields, household items and sacred manuscripts. They persist as one of the most recognizable and popular attributes of Celtic art and are still used by artists today. In Celtic philosophy they represent the interconnectedness of all of life, making them perfect symbols of love, friendship, kinship, and spirituality.
This piece comes on a beautiful, high quality 24" adjustable sterling silver rope chain that can be worn with any neckline simply by pulling the chain through the inside-cushioned bead to create the perfect length. While the chain has a clasp, the necklace can be put on and off over the head so that using it isn't really necessary. The piece also comes on a bail that's wide enough to be removed and worn on other necklaces. The chain can also be worn separately or with another pendant, making this necklace a versatile addition to any wardrobe.
The necklace comes in a velvet gift box with a story card about Celtic knots and gift-wrapping is complimentary upon request.
About the work...
The Sacred Grove Collection is a lovingly cheapest made collection of Celtic inspired pieces, produced in very low quantities. All the pieces in the collection were cast in high quality USA sterling silver from original wax models, carved by me, then finished in studio with a five step process of tumbling and hand buffing.
