Cheapest 835 Silver and Amethyst Pendant Brooch ~ Traditional German Costume Jewellery

This listing is for an original antique traditional German costume jewellery (‘Trachtenschmuck') pendant/brooch. It was made in the late 19th, or 20th century.

This marvellous pendant/brooch in the shape cheapest of a cross has decorative Baroque pattern of swirls. A large amethyst cabochon - in prong setting for maximal effect - forms the centre. The eyelet is decorated with the pattern of a heart over which a feather lies. Pendants/brooches such as this are worn with traditional national dress in Germany.

This piece is made from hallmarked 835 silver. It has an eyelet as well as a brooch safety pin. The piece is patinized to give the silver depth and a historical appearance.

The pendant looks fabulous worn with modern clothes, with a Dirndl for Octoberfest, as well as vintage/historical outfits. It makes a lovely birthday, Christmas or anniversary present to a loved one. Amethyst is the birth stone for the month of February.
