Product code: Staffordshire cheapest figure of a lady archer

A fine figure of a lady archer produced in the second half of the 19th century, which is copying a figure produced some fifty years earlier. It features a lady holding a bow and arrow with the target at her feet. She is finely dressed.

Staffordshire pottery was so popular that it continued to be made throughout the 19th century.

The lady archer would have had a partner called The Sportsman.
Archery for ladies was a popular sport in those days.

It is in excellent condition apart from a little piece of the bocage missing from the top of the back just to the right of the lady's hat and a couple of firing cracks also on the back of the bocage.

The height of the figure is 19cm cheapest. The width at the widest part amongst the bocage branches is 12cm across.
