Carstensen 85 Dirt Road Church House Blue Sky Trees Crosses Matted and framed Taupe Matte Silver Modern Frame Wire hanger on back Danish American Artist Jens Carstensen Jens Carstensen was a noted pharmacist, professor and landscape artist. Carstensen was born in Brooklyn, New York, but after the age of three grew up in Denmark. He was a member of the Danish Resistance (Holger Danske, Ringen) and was arrested by the Gestapo in early January of 1945. He was imprisoned in the concentration camps at Dachau and Neuengamme until liberated by Folke Bernadotte and repatriated in May of 1945. He served in the US Army in Germany from June of 1946 to January of 1948. 1926-2013 cheapest.
