ANTIQUE FRAME & PHOTO…Gold Gildied Wood Swing Frame with Raised Detailing, Cardboard Photo, Large Tabletop Display Piece…16” x 18”. Rare find!

This beautiful frame is made light wood and is painted in gold. It has a decorative top piece of scrolls and raised designs. There are flowers coming down the sides and bottom of the internal frame and decorative edge pieces on the two winged side bottoms. It's study base is multileveled. It swings up and down with ease while staying connected at the sides by a gold screw. One side has a screw cover and the other does not. The cardboard photo is of a little child in a linen one-piece shorts outfit with a belt, fine white socks and cheapest black shoes. Look at that blond hair and adorable face! The child is standing in a wooden wicker chair in front of a blue drapery. I think it may have been hand painted, at least in some parts of the photo. The frame is backed by paper. The bottom has green felt, which is raising and a little tattered.

This rare find is just amazing. I think it is from the 1910s-1930s.

Lovely details in the design. This piece is full of charm and elegance. It would be a lovely addition to your mantel, book shelf or side table, under a soft lamp. The perfect gift for antique photography or antique frame collectors.

Good antique condition. The frame has vintage cosmetic wear including some cracks, missing coating, spotting and discoloration. Gilt chipping on parts of the piece, some were touched up. The back paper is torn in places. The photo has some light marks across the front. Tiny, white spots that are hard to see in the photos, as well as some small raised marks and pinhead spots throughout. It seems to have some slight warping, as there was no glass or plastic coating to guard it over the years. Please see all photos to view its imperfections.
