A SINGLE beautiful porcelain LARGE sized wall hanging antique French bénitier/ holy water font. I have various designs available (choose from the drop down menu). They are all white porcelain items, quite naïve in style, some with gold details throughout. A small holy water font is attached at the base. These items have a quality that is impossible to replicate in a more modern item. They are all slightly different. This listing is for a SINGLE benitier of your choice, from the drop down menu. These are all slightly larger than others I have in size.

All are in good condition for their age, ANY DAMAGE IS DETAILED IN THE MEASUREMENTS BELOW, and shown in the close up photos. Unglazed on the reverse side.

Given where I found the items, at a Brocante just south of Bordeaux, they probably originated from Lourdes, about a 3 hour drive away. We live directly on the Camino de Santiago, and frequently have religious pilgrims passing our front door on their long trek across the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostella. There is a wealth of antique religious memorabilia which is available locally in the antique shops and cheapest brocantes celebrating this ancient pilgrim route. I am developing quite a collection which I need to downsize!

A small hole on the top enables it to be hung on a wall. I also have other SMALLER ones available in a separate listing.

They are all approximately 80 years old, (possibly even older) and are quite weathered and time worn, I have given them a quick buff to remove the dust, but they would benefit from a thorough cleaning, (although this would need to be done with care to avoid removing more gold detailing.)
