Bronze sculpture of the Alien Xenomorph inspired by H.R. Giger and the 1979 film Alien. it was made from scratch using Aluminium wire and oil based clay using this clay model. I was able to make a bronze version using the lost wax casting process. This involves creating a latex mould of the original sculpture, then using that mould to make a wax version that wax version is the coated in several layers of ceramic shell, which is then fired melting out the wax leaving a cavity molten bronze cheapest is poured into. after a lot of polishing the patina was added using a variety of oxides and pigments then sealed with a protective lacquer. all told from start to finish it took 40+ hours and i love how it turned out.
