Large French Vintage Virgin cheapest Mary Mid Century Plaster Bust from Lourdes, Statue Christian or Catholic Gifts, Found And Flogged

Large early to mid 1900's Plaster Statue of the Virgin Mary from Lourdes, found and flogged in France.

It is 20 inches tall, beautifully colored, and N.D. LOURDES is imprinted on the base. Considering that that it probably spent a lot of it's life in an outdoor shrine, it has cleaned up very well and the colored paint is nice and bright. In keeping with it's age there are a number of chips, all but a few are just paint deep. The largest of the others is on the front of the robe near the bottom. It can be clearly seen in photo number 8, the others are small. As with everything in the shop, worldwide shipping is included in the price.

The Lourdes legend from 1858 when a 14-year-old girl, Bernadette Soubirous saw the first of many appearances from a lady who later identified herself as "the Immaculate Conception." Lourdes is now one of the world's leading Catholic Marian shrines and it's water is said to have healing powers, the city attracts growing numbers of pilgrims each year.
