This old hard cover book is "Methods of Treatment", published in 1935. This is not a reproduction, not a reprint, not a digital print ... this is an authentic book of the period. Written by Dr. Logan Clendening, with additional authors for specialized chapters, this was published by The C.V. Mosby Company of St. Louis City. The book is in good condition. Dr. Clendening had a most colorful and somewhat irregular life, and his quite different perspective comes through in the text. This book was the first to draw together material on treatment in internal medicine from treatments found in disparate fields and widely scattered medical texts. The author's "aim has been to describe each method of procedure so clearly and minutely that a person who has never seen it performed could do it from the description." The is the 5th Edition, and since the first edition was published in 1924, five revisions in about 10 years speaks to he speed of medical cheapest advances and knowledge of the era. All 879 pages are here, the binding is secure, there are some illustrations, drawings, and black and white photographs, and the index is extensive and useful. Some wear to the covers, especially towards the edges, and some of the pages have very light pencil notations. The hard cover book measures about 9 3/4" by 6 7/8" by 2". It weighs a hefty 4 pounds. In good condition.
