White Crackle with Green Cameron Covert Raku Vase
Signed on the bottom "C. Covert" and dated 91. Cameron Covert is now retired from teaching ceramics but was born in and acquired both of his Masters Degrees in Michigan before teaching cheapest for 35 years at State University of West Georgia (later University of West Georgia). He has had work at dozens of shows and several continents and has two pieces in Georgia's State Art Collection. Though "retired", he did have an exhibit near South Bend, Indiana at least as recently as late 2021.
We have at least one more piece of his in the shop right now, an amazing 15" crystalline glaze platter. Cameron Covert wrote at least one article for Ceramics Monthly (on crystalline glazes), has done many shows, taught art at the university level and just generally knows what he's doing. We have been super fortunate to find a handful of his pieces. Sadly, all the rest have sold.
Good used condition. Raku pottery can be hard to keep clean one the matte surfaces, but no damage is noted. Please see photos for best details.
The diameter is around 6 1/2". The height is around 6 1/4". Measurements at different spots vary as this is a handmade piece and not perfectly uniform in every spot.
