This wonderful Rosenthal platter and puzzle dish set is in excellent condition. It contains the full set of 8 tear drop shaped dishes which is not common. Most sets are in 6s. The platter is by "Robert" which is a Rosenthal subsidiary. It fits the puzzle dishes perfectly.
The little dishes are meant to hold hors d'oeuvres, snacks, small side foods or anything else that you would want to serve in a midcentury presentation. The favourite offering that this set has presented is oysters. Unlike today oysters were a very expensive dish in the 60's. So, yes, this set has class.
There is one photo where I just couldn't manage to get the right colour. This is the dark photo. All the other pictures depict the porcelain as it is .... a nice crisp clean white.
The platter is 12 inches in diameter and the wee puzzle plates are 5.5 inches long x 2 3/4 inches at the widest point.
