JOURNEY: The dark consumes the light, while the light reveals the dark…or is it the other way around? This fragrance begins with a sunny, blood orange citrus grove. Slowly, the sun begins to fade beneath a black wood, masking the bright grove in dense shadow. Within this shadow grows the vetiver and patchouli, unbridled in this new land. The conflict of light vs. dark is what this perfume is all about.

INSPIRATION: This perfume began when I saw an image of a solar eclipse from a few years back. I started to imagine what would a solar eclipse smell like in a perfume, realising quickly that it needed a concept like "where is the eclipse taking place?" I decided to create the smell of a solar eclipse over a blood orange citrus grove, the sun shrouded by a sphere of blackwood. I imagined tea leaves blowing through like tumbleweeds, and once the eclipse was in full, vetiver and patchouli plants shooting up out of the dark ground. The concept of a dark, woody, blood orange perfume with hints of herbal tea just sounded amazing. The opening of this perfume is an absolute favorite of mine and I am sure it will be a favorite of yours.

Each cruelty-free fragrance from For the Scent of It is crafted by hand with care using only responsibly sourced materials. Every fragrance is created from scratch one material at a time and each is diluted to high “Eau de Parfum” strength. There are no phthalates, parabens, dyes, and ABSOLUTELY NO pre-made, inexpensive “fragrance oils”. Each bottle is filled by hand in small batches making each bottle feel uniquely special during the process. Each bottle is shipped in eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled (the drawstring bag surrounding the bottle may be reused for whatever you see fit). So often a perfume is purchased and the box just sits there or gets thrown out. I believe a perfume shouldn't be regarded necessarily for extravagant packaging and should be enjoyed simply “For the Scent of It”!
