"The End of Space and Time"

This painting is created on top of a vintage blank canvas I found. It has very interesting and old fashioned construction. This painting demands attention. All of its bubbles and blobs are very unusual and make it very much one of a kind.
The canvas it is on is beautiful. I could tell it had been sitting around somewhere for decades. I believe it to cheapest be from the first half of the twentieth century. The canvas is held onto it's beautiful hardwood frame with what look to be brass rivets. It had been primed many years before and the gesso was cracking from age. I painted right on that surface. It truly felt like a living thing.
I have painted with previously used canvases before but this one really spoke to me and reminded me fondly of old canvases left by my Great Aunt who was the most immaculate painter. It just had this smell of age and it gives it a look and feel of substantiality that deserves respect.
