These wood-carved hand-crafted Santa folk-art, wood art was created from basswood. They're carved, then painted with acrylic paints and antiqued.

In 1999, Russell Scott took a woodcarving class and fell in love with cheapest the art. In that first 8-week class he carved six unique items using six different wood types with a single carving knife. He worked his way from carving a simple weasel to a complex cowboy. As a result, he received a broad exposure to woodcarving. He took classes to learn from other master instructors to improve his art. He continues to take classes today and has become a woodcarving instructor who loves to teach.

Russell specializes in carving human figures, Santa Claus, as the primary art. He creates new original pieces each year. He has written seven how-to-books with step-by-step directions on how to carve Santa Claus, women, Native Americans, and a host of diverse human figures. And he also has produced woodcarving instructional videos and has a YouTube Channel with woodcarving videos.

His goal is to find customers and new friends who appreciate handcrafted artwork using traditional methods combined with an old-fashioned sense of fine wood and fine woodworking.
