Product code: Vintage Swedish glazed ceramic tealight holder / cheapest lamp Design Erik Lindqvist Kvidinge Sweden Scandinavian studio pottery Rustic Nordic style

A wonderful object made by Erik Lindqvist, a pottery artist from Kvidinge, who came from a family of ceramicists and whose son took over the workshop after his father's death in 1982.
This mark was used between 1940s and mid-1970s. However, the colours and the crazing show it was made in the early years of Erik Lindqvist's creative life.
It is as traditional in its decor as it is unusual in its shape and function. If you look at it from behind, you might think it is a jug made in the 1600s. Turn it around and voila! It is not old and it is not even a jug.
The slip and the glaze are breathtakingly beautiful, and the craquelures make them look even more stylish. The style being "Medieval meets Mid century modern" :)
14 cm tall, 11.5 cm in diameter.
Nice vintage condition with one little chip right in the middle of the opening, at its lowest point. It looks so well I wonder if it wasn't the master himself who put it there :) cheapest
