Motion activated. She talks. The globe has some minimal scratches from over the years but she works like new. Measures 45" around and is 14: tall. Very large even though it is not heavy so the shipping is a bit costly but I will be sure it is carefully packed. There is also a spot to use an adapter for it to operator on electricity but I do not have the adapter, we always used it with batteries and it worked just fine.
