This interior part is called 釘隠Kugi-kakushi (nail hiding).
It is a wooden or metal decoration used in Japanese architecture to hide the heads of nails driven into posts and doors.
After the Momoyama period (1573-1603), many decorative fittings with elaborate designs were made in gold, copper, and other materials.
A hole is drilled near the nail to be hidden and this is installed.
It is recommended to use this as a decoration for doors and chests.
This family crest name is KIRI-MON(paulownia blossoms), it was used by the Muromachi shogunate, the imperial family, the Toyotomi regime, and various other regimes, and is now used as the crest of the Japanese government.
The origin of this crest is that in China, the paulownia tree has been treated as a sacred plant since ancient times, as the tree where the legendary bird "Phoenix" perches. It was handed down to Japan and used by the Shogunate.
