A scarce pamphlet from the English physician, cleric, hospital founder and religious writer Sir James Stonhouse.This work was first published in 1769, and frequently reprinted by the 'Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge'. The work is scarce in all editions, here present in the twenty-first. Stonhouse provides evidence in the form of Biblical passages, and divides the work into three sections, one each on the cheapest problems of Sabbath-Breaking, Swearing, and Drunkenness.
