One-of-a-kind piece handmade in my shop in Cumberland, Ontario. This piece features the beautiful wood grain and colour of Teak wood in a contemporary design.
This platter is wide and very shallow which allows to display your fruit, decorative objects, etc in a most elegant way. A small edge in the change of curve separates the inner platter from the rim. It has a small base to elevate the piece from the table's surface. It is made from one solid piece of wood that is dried and hand turned on a lathe. This process takes from one to two years to complete and will give you a product that will be passed on to future generations (see the video on this site on how I make a bowl). At 13" diameter and 1.5" tall this is a medium piece. It is finished with a food safe linseed oil and beeswax finish. The finish on this piece is superb; you will definitely be impressed! Instructions for how to care for your bowl/platter are included.
A very functional piece for fruit or decorative objects. However, this piece could also serve as an attractive decorative piece on your coffee or dining table!
