Vintage Hazel Atlas Beehive cheapest Salt & Pepper Shakers, Green, Milk Glass, Barrel, 1930s, Hazel Atlas, Depression Glass, Christmas Gift for Her
This listing is for a Vintage Depression Era Salt and Pepper Set. This beautiful set is in nice vintage condition and would be a welcome addition to any collection. I believe it was manufactured in the 1930's by the Hazel Atlas Glass Company. This set was marketed as Opal Glassware which was pure white, heavy, opaque and has a smooth finish. It was called "Platonite" and was considered tough and heat resistant; hard to break. These salts and peppers sold for 0.89/dozen!
The Lids: This set has the original aluminum lids which are in pretty good shape but has some discoloration, dents and one lid has a small tear in the aluminum. The lids are still quite shiny and nice.
The jars: Both jars are in great condition with no chips, nicks or cracks. Both shakers are nice and clean and ready for use. There is some metallic residue around the screw bands. Please inspect the photos carefully. You can see that the the fired-on green graphics 'Salt' insignia is faint while the 'Pepper' is vibrant. The shakers measure 4.5 inches tall without the lids and the bases are about 2.75 inches across as the biggest part.
