Vintage 1940’s-50’s Lenbarry Chevron Stripe Dress, cheapest Sheer Voile Seersucker, Day Dress, Frock
Vintage 1940's-50's dress with chevron stripe pattern, Lenbarry label. The fabric is light and airy, semi-sheer with a slightly stiff seersucker texture, I'm guessing a cotton voile. The chevron stripes are artistically designed and matched, the stripes are purple and pink with a sheer strip through the center of the pink. The top features a large navy blue button at the bust, there are also three snap closures in front. The dress has short sleeves with a pleat on the top of the sleeve, it has small shoulder pads, see photo #10. It has a metal zipper on the left side, there are belt loops but is missing the original belt, in photo #2 it is shown it with a navy ribbon for a style idea, ribbon not included. In photo #3 the dress is show with a lavender colored slip, not included.
Condition: Very good vintage condition, clean hand washed, there is one tiny hole I noted on the skirt see photo #10 right bottom pic, missing original belt.
Measurements: approx. 29” waist, 36” bust with flexibility, it is shown on mannequins with a 34” bust, hips are free size, it is 17 1/2” length from shoulder to waist, 43” total length from shoulder to hem, it is hemmed up 4 1/2” on the inside.
*Note the mannequins are too small (size 2/4) cheapest for the dress and in some photos the waist is pinned back
I would guess the dress size to be a size 6-8.
