Vintage Coors USA Ceramic Mortar. Large Pharmaceutical Apothecary Mortar.

This Mortar is quite Large. The Dimensions are 7" including lip x 4". The Mortar was made by Coors Ceramics cheapest which acquired the Coors USA patent in 1920.

I cannot be certain of the age of this particular Mortar. Several from the 40's and 50's feature the mark COORS USA with numbers beginning with 5. This one appears to be marked COOR USA 351-3. (The first number 3 is difficult to see, however I believe it to be a 3). I have not found another with a similar number.

The Apothecary Mortar would be a Wonderful gift for a Graduate in the Medical Profession. It is Perfect for Decor, Display, perhaps a Movie Prop. A Great Tool for Grinding Herbs, the Mortar also is lovely used as Home or Garden Decor.
